Activity Club

Mr McCaffery and Mrs Hudson run this every Wednesday from 3.15 to 4.15. We enjoy sewing, crafts, art and playing games. Weather permitting, we go outside to to play a variety of sports and team games in the MUGA. We also go on the new Trim-trail.

Computer Club

On Wednesdays, Miss Hind runs Computer Club in the ICT Suite. Here the children learn together how to use Photostory 3 to upload pictures and create stories and Microsoft Powerpoint to create slideshows and games.

It is a really interesting club and often the children learn so quickly they end up teaching Miss Hind new things!

Dance and Gymnastics Club

In 2016/17, our Dance and Gymnastics club performed in a national competition at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall. This was a wonderful achievement and will build a strong platform for the forthcoming year. Dance and Gymnastics club will still be in the hands of dancing King and Queen Mr and Mrs McCaffery! This year, we will be entering the same competition following the success of last year. The benefits of performing in the dance competition were evident as they showed children’s resilience, competitive nature and teamwork skills.

Dodgeball

In Spring 2018 we will be introducing another new sport! Dodgeball! Children will be ducking, diving and dodging to avoid being hit by a dodgeball and will be using their improving throwing techniques to increase their accuracy of throwing. New equipment such as rebounders will ensure an innovative 10-week club will be stimulating and enjoyable for all children.

Football Club

Football will continue to run every Tuesday with Mr Reeson. In Spring 2018 term, we will be increasing the number of competitive events for boys and girls. The boys and girls will be playing matches against local schools. In addition, the girls will be representing the school at a 6-a-side football tournament at Aston Villa Football Club. We are also pleased to have new football goals and nets which will improve the professionalism of hosting matches.

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place every Monday from 3.15 to 4.15pm. Mrs White and Mrs Hudson help the children to complete their work in a calm and peaceful environment.

Multi-Skills Club

Multi-skills is another new club! In multi-skills, we will be focussing on the 6 key core principles of agility, balance, co-ordination, power, reaction and speed. Different stations will be organised each week varying from speed bounce, hi-stepper, long jump, shuttles, stretching and balancing. These are key, fundamental skills which will help the children across a variety of sports. This is also a fantastic way for children to keep fit and healthy. New equipment has also been purchased to assist with the running of this club.

SportsPlus

SportsPlus will also be providing an extra two clubs. These clubs will change termly as we aim to provide a variety of sports to boost participation and inclusiveness. During the Autumn term, cricket and basketball will be our main focus. Children will take ownership of their choices and choose the clubs for the forthcoming Spring and Summer terms. SportsPlus will also be providing a sports breakfast club for two days a week ensuring children have a wake up and shake up of sporting activities ready for the day ahead!
