Event - Community Week

2 to 6 June 2014

What an amazing time we had during Community Week. These are just a few of the things that happened:

  • Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress visit on Friday 6th June.
  • Litter picking in the community with Clean Medina.
  • Fire Station visits.
  • Community Nurse visit.
  • Community Police visit.
  • Year 5 working with Carpenter Place – a residential home for senior citizens.
  • Calthorpe School working with Years 3 and 4 to develop disability awareness and carrying out an art and dance project entitled ‘Building Bridges’.
  • Years 2 to 6 visiting Birmingham Council House and Central Library.

At the Council House, Year 4 sat in the Mayor's chair and said 'order'!
 
At Calthorpe Special School we took part in activities highlighting the challenges that children with physical impairments and learning difficulties face.

Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 visited Highgate Fire Station.
