Event - Creative Arts Week

September 2010

In September 2010, we had a really successful Creative Arts Week.

The week began with a launch assembly. Volunteers from the Music Service performed a saxophone quartet for the whole school and Reception children set off for the Barber Institute for a special arts workshop. Year 1 attended in the afternoon.

Throughout the week we had volunteers from Birmingham's ArtsFest in school to work alongside children with activities linked to dance, art, drama and music. We had singer/songwriters, opera singers and ex-pupils working with our children.

Parents offered their help with embroidery groups, mendhi painting and art workshops in Early Years.

Years 2 to 6 all visited the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Years 2 and 4 also visited The Hub in our local community.

We also involved our governors with our chair, Rev. Steve performing his musical talents with Ian Smith (another governor) on Wednesday during our assembly.

Two of our local secondary schools, Moseley and Holy Trinity, very kindly offered their support by providing art workshops for Year 6 and Early Years.

On Friday we held a closing ceremony to showcase all the fantastic work we had done that week.
