Event - EYFS trip to English Martyrs Church

21 May 2015

We visited the church to see if a Catholic church is different to our own.

We looked inside the church, and discovered the Altar, a baptism font, statues, Holy water, a Paschal candle, and pews. We found out that most Catholics go to Mass on a Sunday, and that they listen to the Father who talks to them about being good, kind and caring.

We had a lovely time, and developed our understanding and respect for others’ beliefs.

Off we go!
We sat in the wooden pews to listen about what happens at the church during Mass.

When we walked around to look at the beautiful stained glass windows. Can you see the owl?
We talked about the baby Jesus being born at Christmas, and the names of his mummy and daddy.
