Event - Living Eggs

16 March 2015

There was great excitement in Nursery and Reception when the eggs arrived in the incubator.

Our children learnt so much. Their increased vocabulary, knowledge and understanding of growth, and caring for living things was fantastic. They could not wait to come into school each day to check for any developments. As the chicks hatched, the children chose their names by voting.

The eggs in the incubator.

On day 2 the eggs began to crack. The children were impatient for the chicks to come out!

At last the first chick came out. He had to stay in the incubator to dry out.

The chicks were transferred to the viewing box.

The children enjoyed holding the chicks, describing how they felt.
