A New Headteacher - Mr Nick Whitehouse

I am very pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Nick Whitehouse as Headteacher of our school.

Nick has covered as Acting Headteacher since February 2020. Since then the school and its staff has had to deal with the significant impact brought about by Covid-19.

Despite this extreme situation, Nick and his very able team have continued to maintain their focus on your children. Work has been set during the school closure and staff have been in regular contact with children and parents. I commend all staff for their efforts over this incredibly difficult period.

The months since lockdown have been testing for even the most experienced of Headteachers. Government instruction and guidance for schools is constantly changing and Christ Church has dealt with everything in a professional and pro-active manner. Most recently, creating a safe and welcoming environment for children to come back to in September has been a priority.

The wellbeing of staff and pupils at the school remains imperative, too. The school will continue to monitor the impact that Covid-19 has on the whole Christ Church family. Where assistance is sought or required, the school will continue to provide support.

We are fortunate to have such a dedicated team at Christ Church. Nick has been Deputy Headteacher since 2014 and will continue to drive the school forward. You can remain confident that the school and its staff will continue to provide the best opportunities, welfare and outcomes for your children.

This is a new chapter for Christ Church school and we must now look forward. There are still massive challenges ahead for us all. Senior leadership, teachers, governors and parents must work together while Nick and his team continue to strive for excellence.

We look forward to welcoming all your children back in September - they have been missed.

With my very best regards,

Mr Steve Slater,
Chair of Governors
